Case Studies of Hypersensitivity
Allergies
Wheat: 35 year old client presented with intermittent aches and pains in muscles and joints, low energy and mild depression. Using the assessment and correction protocols of Michael Liebowitz the client was found to have an intolerance to wheat. This was indicated by consistent muscle weakness in the presence of wheat. Using tools from Specialized Kinesiology the client was desensitized to wheat as well as restricting wheat in her diet. Her energy and mood immediately began to improve and after several weeks she reported no more aches and pains.
Cotton: Woman in mid 50's with chonic sinusitis over many months that was hardly manageable with prescription antihistamines. The drip was intense enough to irritate her throat and vocal cords. A sensitivity to cotton fiber was discovered which was suprising as she had many cotton items in her house. After 40 minutes of desensitization, the drip stoped, her sinuses cleared up with no recurrence.
Arthritis
55 year old client presented with chronic joint pain in the ankle and wrists. This had been diagnosed as Rheumatoid Arthritis and the joints were gradually getting more painful, with less mobility and strength. Client was on steroids for the inflammation and pain, but they were effective only at a high dosage. Examination found that imbalance was not restricted to the joints in the hands and feet and that there were many things that structural bodywork and specialized kinesiology could address, including an emotional aspect regarding flexibility and standing on your own feet. Weekly sessions over a couple of months improved overall strength and vigor, as well as greatly reducing the pain and inflammation in the hands and feet to the point where steriod usage was minimized or eliminated on some days. Sessions are now being scheduled 14 - 21 days apart.
